  • Salient happenings at Tamana

    Dear Board Member,
    We are pleased to share with you the salient happenings and the important honours/ awards received by Tamana in the months of Jan-and Feb 2015-
    1. . Dr. Shayama Chona was conferred The Excellence Award 2015 by IPE Global on 13 February for her exemplary contributions in the development sector, in educating differently abled children and for spreading awareness about autism in India.

    2. Tamana was awarded the NASSCOM Catalytic Grant 2015 for ICT led Innovation in its Leadership Forum 2015 held at Mumbai on the 11th of February. The grant is for developing Kinect based educational applications for individuals with autism and special needs. The Grand Jury for the award selection included Rohini Nilekani Founder-Chairperson, Arghyam ; Mr. Ganesh Ayyar - CEO, Mphasis ; Ganesh Natarajan - CEO, Zensar, Chairman of NASSCOM Foundation ; R Sukumar - Editor of Mint; Kalpana Morparia -CEO, J.P.Morgan, India ; Mohit Thukral -Senior Vice President, Genpact India.

    3. Inauguration of new Technology Lab at Nai Disha by the High Commissioner of Australia H.E Mr. Patrick Suckling on 9th February. The Australian High Commission had given a grant for setting up the lab. They donated 20 new computers to Tamana. This lab will be used for training the students on their math, logical reasoning, language and basic computer skills using the Prayas module developed by Autism Society of India. The aim of the programme is to prepare the students for employment.

    4. Mr. Hersh Chadha donated a bus to Tamana in memory of his daughter late Ms. Ambica Chadha. The new bus was inaugurated by family members -Ms Gauri Chadha and Ms. Nandini Aggarwal -on 5th February at Nai Disha.

  • Mr. Hersh Chadha donated a bus to Tamana in memory of his daughter late Ms. Ambica Chadha. The new bus was inaugurated by family members -Ms Gauri Chadha and Ms. Nandini Aggarwal -on 5th February at Nai Disha.

    Parents/Visitors can meet the Principal on working days (Mon-Fri) between 10am--12pm.

  • Visit of volunteers from Kuwait

    Tamana looks forward to welcome volunteers who are asset for organization, people like Kritika & Karan. Kritika & Karan- school students from Kuwait are working as volunteer in Tamana School of Hope. They are not only helping students in academic but also helping in other co-curricular activities also. They both are very innovative, energetic and cooperative.
    Looking forward such people to give their time for the cause.

  • Visit of Bhutan Japanese Delegates

    A delegation from Bhutan embassy and Japan embassy visited Tamana School of Hope and Tamana Special School They were welcomed by students of SOH and Tamana Kindergarten by giving flower and mala made by students at the gate. They had round of the school including vocation centre. They took interest in student’s activities. Later they were entertained by different performance, performed by students of Nai Disha, Tamana D-6, Tamana SOH and Tamana Kindergarten in SOH auditorium. Tea was served in the office with snacks made in SOH bakery and was appreciated by all our guests. At last they had photo session with the students.

  • 1. Eye camp –on April 21-22, 2014, An eye camp was held at Tamana Nai Disha and Tamana Special School organised by Sai Dham.
    2. Earth Day – on April 22, 2014, Mr. Rajender Lalwani from Granite Services International Gurgaon visited the school to bring awareness about ‘Earth Day’ amongst the children.

    3. Dental camp – On April 23 -24, 2014 a Dental camp was organised at Tamana Nai Disha and Tamana Special School by Sai Dham .

  • Tamana schools are closed for summer vacations from May 15, 2014 - July 1, 2014 and reopens on July 2, 2014.

  • Afternoon Therapy Programme
    Tamana's new Outreach Therapy programme will be providing its services to special children and the mainstream students under the guidance of a highly qualified team of special educators and respective therapists. Our services include:- Occupational therapy, Physio-Therapy, Speech Therapy and Psychological Intervention and Counselling and we also propose to run a vocational course for them. This facility will be available from Monday to Friday ( 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.) and on Saturday it will be from 10:30 A.M. to 1 P.M.     TOBY: Researchers from Deakin University, Australia under the leadership of Professor Sveta venkatesh have harnessed the tablet technology to develop an iPad application to revolutionise the way parents around the world and provide in-home threapy for autistic children. The application named TOBY Playpad (Therapy outcomes by you) enables parents to provide early intervention therapy for their kids as soon as they are diagnosed with Autism.
    TOBY-TAMANA: Deakin University Research in Collaboration with Tamana looks forward in launching the TOBY application in India and work with our autistic children. The project will be soon set up in our Cognition Lab with 10 iPads and we look forward to scrutinize our autistic children on play tasks based on the application and thereby empowering parents to start an early intervention to maximize child's development.
    TAMANA RESEARCH: With our new centre for excellence, our vision is to convene and support an interdisciplinary global community of researchers, educators and create prospects for powerful collaboration that will bring better methods of detection and treatment to patients and their families all over the world, organize and amalgamate autism related information here in India.
