    Admissions are opened for the Hearing impaired students (age between 4 years -14 years) at the Tamana Centres for the session 2015-16. For more details please contact Ms Purnima Jain - 011-26143853, 011-26153474.

  • World Autism Awareness Day
    ‘Tamana’ celebrated The World Autism Awareness Day on 8th of April at the Autism Centre Tamana. The campaign was supported by the students and teachers of Springdale’s school, Lalit Mahajan school , Tagore international school ,Chinmaya Vidyalaya , LSR & Gargi college students and Vimal Bhai from Jhetabhai Jewellers. A pamphlet was given to all mainstream school students and college students to create awareness about Tamana centres and Autism. On arrival, autism badges were put on the mainstream students by Tamana students. The mainstream children wrote their thoughts as a part of signature campaign. A PowerPoint presentation was part of the programme and a skit was presented by students of Teachers Training Cell on Autism, followed by the march, along with the mainstream students and teachers towards Priya cinema complex holding placards depicting awareness on autism. Autistic children sang songs followed by LSR students who performed a small skit on Autism. Dr Shayama Chona, President Tamana, rel eased balloons as a mark to celebrate the day.

  • Indian Bonsai Association, hosted its annual exhibition on Saturday April 4 ,2015 at Indian Bonsai Park, Lodhi Garden, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

    It was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Japan ,His excellency Mr Takeshi Yagi .Tamana Chona was invited as the guest of honour .She spoke about bonsai connect with 5 elements of nature-She invited him to visit Tamana Center and open a Bonsai center there.

  • Dr. Catherine Mcclaine MD, Professor University of New Mexico, Director Centre of Development of Disability, Dr. Jane Mcgrath MD, Professor University of Mexico, Director Envision, Dr. Col Kumud Rai, Chairman Eco India Trust and Dr. Sunil Anand, Executive Director, Eco India Trust visit Autism Centre Tamana on 4th-Mar-2015. A short cultural programme was put up by autistic students amd reverse integration group which was highly appreciated by the visitors. They were amazed with the facilities provided at the centre for students, teachers training cell, air conditioned dormitory.
    With happy note & promise to support Tamana professionally and personally the visitors left.

  • Salient happenings at Tamana

    Dear Board Member,
    We are pleased to share with you the salient happenings and the important honours/ awards received by Tamana in the months of Jan-and Feb 2015-
    1. . Dr. Shayama Chona was conferred The Excellence Award 2015 by IPE Global on 13 February for her exemplary contributions in the development sector, in educating differently abled children and for spreading awareness about autism in India.

    2. Tamana was awarded the NASSCOM Catalytic Grant 2015 for ICT led Innovation in its Leadership Forum 2015 held at Mumbai on the 11th of February. The grant is for developing Kinect based educational applications for individuals with autism and special needs. The Grand Jury for the award selection included Rohini Nilekani Founder-Chairperson, Arghyam ; Mr. Ganesh Ayyar - CEO, Mphasis ; Ganesh Natarajan - CEO, Zensar, Chairman of NASSCOM Foundation ; R Sukumar - Editor of Mint; Kalpana Morparia -CEO, J.P.Morgan, India ; Mohit Thukral -Senior Vice President, Genpact India.

    3. Inauguration of new Technology Lab at Nai Disha by the High Commissioner of Australia H.E Mr. Patrick Suckling on 9th February. The Australian High Commission had given a grant for setting up the lab. They donated 20 new computers to Tamana. This lab will be used for training the students on their math, logical reasoning, language and basic computer skills using the Prayas module developed by Autism Society of India. The aim of the programme is to prepare the students for employment.

    4. Mr. Hersh Chadha donated a bus to Tamana in memory of his daughter late Ms. Ambica Chadha. The new bus was inaugurated by family members -Ms Gauri Chadha and Ms. Nandini Aggarwal -on 5th February at Nai Disha.

  • Mr. Hersh Chadha donated a bus to Tamana in memory of his daughter late Ms. Ambica Chadha. The new bus was inaugurated by family members -Ms Gauri Chadha and Ms. Nandini Aggarwal -on 5th February at Nai Disha.

  • Meeting time with the Principals

    Parents/Visitors can meet the Principal on working days (Mon-Fri) between 10am--12pm.

  • Afternoon Therapy Programme
    Tamana's new Outreach Therapy programme will be providing its services to special children and the mainstream students under the guidance of a highly qualified team of special educators and respective therapists. Our services include:- Occupational therapy, Physio-Therapy, Speech Therapy and Psychological Intervention and Counselling and we also propose to run a vocational course for them. This facility will be available from Monday to Friday ( 2:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.) and on Saturday it will be from 10:30 A.M. to 1 P.M.
